About Platalea
Platalea Studio was founded by Lilia Corona and Rodrigo Lobato, a nomadic artist duo now based in Mexico City.
Yacatas ruins in Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan, Mexico
This piece was created in collaborations with artisans from Santa Maria del Cobre, Michoacan as part of the program Ensamble artesano by Design Week Mx. Its shape is inspired by the Yacatas ruins in Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan.
Rawn to the intersections between Mexico's complex imaginary and the broader contemporary world, it is a space to explore cultural encounters and the transgressions of modernity, as well as a harbinger for the world that will come after.
